Shipping Policy

1. Alcohol Delivery – Legal Restrictions and Requirements
In compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, all domestic deliveries of alcohol are subject to the following conditions:
All alcohol deliveries must be shipped via NZ Couriers or an approved courier service using a signature-required service (e.g., CourierPost CPT18R/CPT18RA).
Alcohol deliveries will not occur:
Before 1:00 PM on ANZAC Day
On Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, or Good Friday
Between the hours of 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM on any day
Delivery agents are instructed to verify that the recipient is 18 years of age or older. Identification will be required at the time of delivery.
Merchants must comply with the conditions of their Off-Licence, including taking reasonable steps to verify the age of both the purchaser and the intended recipient.
Alcohol deliveries are exempt from Authority to Leave (ATL) policies and must be signed for unless a prior written exemption has been arranged with NZ Post.
2. Instant Delivery (Only to Auckland Suburbs mentioned)
Instant delivery is available to select Auckland suburbs listed on our website.
A $5.99 flat delivery fee applies to orders of $30 or more.
Instant delivery is included for orders valued at $70 or more.
We aim to deliver within 60 minutes; however, this time frame is indicative only and not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to external factors beyond our control.
3. Standard Auckland Region Delivery – Freight Charges
Upon checkout, customers will be prompted to select a delivery address, which automatically calculates applicable freight charges. Charges for urban addresses are as follows:
Base Freight Rates:
$6.00 – Covers up to 12 bottles or 18 kg
$6.00 – Covers 2 to 6 bottles or up to 10 kg
$6.00 – Covers a single bottle or up to 5 kg
Surcharges:
A surcharge of $2.00 per bottle (up to 1000 ml) applies due to increased courier costs.
Larger bottle sizes (e.g., 1500ml, 3000ml, 6000ml) will incur surcharges ranging from $5.00 to $20.00 per unit.
Additional surcharges apply for Beer and RTDs, based on weight and packaging requirements.
Freight for Spirits and Wine is calculated per bottle. Beer and RTDs are charged by weight, with rates subject to change at our discretion.
4. Standard Outer Auckland Region or Rural Deliveries
Base freight charges range from $13 per case to Outer Auckland region and Rural region.
Orders delivered to rural addresses may incur additional freight charges not calculated at checkout.
If actual courier costs exceed the amount paid at checkout, we reserve the right to contact the customer for payment of the difference before dispatch.
Customers unwilling to pay the additional freight may cancel the order, in which case a full refund will be issued provided the order has not been dispatched.
Packaging Surcharge – Beer & RTDs:
A $5.00 surcharge per 12-pack or 24-pack of Beer or RTDs will be added for protective packaging and courier handling.
Certain items may incur an additional $5.00 shipping charge per item due to limited stock or special packaging requirements.

If your address is deemed rural, please select the “Rural” shipping option on the cart page to avoid delays.
5. Bulk Orders
For large or custom bulk orders, please contact us directly. A sales representative will be pleased to assist with logistics and pricing.
6. Estimated Delivery Timeframes
Instant Delivery (Auckland only): Within 60 minutes (indicative only)
Standard Auckland region Deliveries: 1–3 working days
Standard Outer Auckland region and Rural Deliveries: 2–5 working days
Please note that orders placed after business hours, during weekends, or to rural locations may experience extended delivery times. Kiwi Liquor is not liable for delays caused by third-party couriers.
7. Service Punctuality
While Kiwi Liquor endeavours to dispatch all orders promptly, we do not guarantee delivery timeframes.
Delays due to courier service disruptions, adverse weather, or other unforeseen circumstances are beyond our control.
In such cases, we will attempt to seek a refund from the courier where applicable and will communicate any delays to the customer.
8. Damaged Deliveries
We take care to ensure all parcels are securely packed. However, if you receive a parcel that is visibly damaged or leaking:
Please refuse delivery and instruct the courier to return the parcel to us.
Upon confirmation of damage by the courier, we will reship the order within 24 hours.
9. Authority to Leave (ATL) Policy
Due to the inclusion of alcohol in all shipments, we cannot authorize couriers to leave parcels unattended.
If the recipient is unavailable at the time of delivery, the courier will leave a “Card to Call”, allowing the customer to reschedule delivery or collect the parcel from the nearest depot.
10. Out-of-Stock Items
In the event that an ordered item is out of stock:
We will contact you within 24 hours (or within 48 hours on weekends).
You will have the option to receive:
A full refund
A substitute item (upon your approval)
