Akarua Central Otago Pinot Noir is a refined and expressive red wine from Central Otago, New Zealand — a cool-climate region celebrated for producing some of NZ’s most elegant and distinctive Pinot Noirs. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown primarily on the Bannockburn vineyard site, this wine reflects both varietal purity and the unique terroir of the region, with careful cellar practices including French oak ageing to add complexity and structure.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Medium purple with crimson/ruby hues in the glass.

• Aroma / Nose: Perfumed and expressive, showing pretty florals with blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, herbal thyme, spice notes and gently charred oak.

• Palate: Medium-bodied and concentrative with dark cherry, black Doris plum, red currant, subtle mushroom and dark chocolate flavours. It’s finely balanced with bright acidity, velvety, silky tannins and a long, mineral-driven finish.
